112) MONDAY, 17 OCTOBER 1977 : 0KMS. - SRINAGAR

I was interested in  Pashmina shawls and  wanted to buy a real nice ones for my mother and aunt, but finally I thought  it might  not  be useful  for the warm climate country like in Thailand. Besides, they are too expensive,  almost DM 50. - for a nice one.

Nishat Bagh

The brother of Mughal Empress Nur Jehan, Asif Khan laid the Garden in Srinagar in 1633. Set on the banks of world famous Dal Lake, in the backdrop of Zabarwan hills, this terraced garden offers some magnificent views of the lake.

The Garden has a beautiful water channel flowing right through its middle. Not a minute in the garden can be dull with its gorgeous Shikara rides up to the Nehru Park from here. The favorite picnic spot of the natives, a long walk amidst the lush greenery of this well-planned Garden refreshes oneself. There are also some shopping stalls opposite the garden.

Is it a Painting ?

DAL Lake in SRINAGAR - http://munichtomadras1977.blogspot.com

A friend has noticed something unusual with this photo (that has been retouched)  and asked whether the transparency was dirty? It really was a damaged slide (after many years of storage), and has been recovered to turn out as it is. I think it's not so bad as it looks a bit like a painting of the Dal Lake. What do you think?
